The Manor is a Grade II listed building in the quiet village of Yealmpton. We welcome people from all walks of life, including those with physical or mental incapacities. We care for our residents as if they were part of our own family and welcome adult visitors and children at any time. We offer the highest standards of nursing care based on individual Care Plans.

In our latest CQC report (Dec 2017), The Manor was rated as ‘Outstanding‘ for the caring service provided by our staff, with the CQC report stating that “people were treated with kindness and endearing compassion by staff who truly respected and valued the people they cared for“.

Our homes are fully accredited by all the relevant governing bodies. Our service provides residents with choices in all aspects of daily life. Their rights to privacy and dignity are rigorously upheld. Our trained nursing staff are on call 24 hours a day.

Wells House Limited is also proud to own and manage The Lawns Nursing & Residential Care Home in Brixton, Nr. Plymouth, Devon. PL8 2AX. 

Employing around 65 people primarily from the local area, we are extremely proud of the fact that so many of our employees are long standing, some serving up to 25 years. During those years, the homes have become their very own close knit communities resulting in many mutual friendships being formed amongst staff, residents and their families.

At The Manor we get so many great testimonials from both residents and patients. Everyone loves the real family feeling created within the home. Our nursing staff forge strong bonds with our residents who really appreciate the warm and welcoming atmosphere. Many relatives and friends are completely amazed how their loved ones settle in and become a part of the “family”.

Residents are free to go about their lives as they wish, some mixing constantly with others and some preferring their own space. Whatever their preferences we respect and treat them as individuals. Many have said: “It’s just like being at home, only better!”
